Privacy model
Your credentials do not need a new cloud to pass through.
ShipZen runs locally on your Mac. It stores secrets in Keychain and connects directly to Apple plus the AI provider you choose. The only other services it talks to — purchase validation, crash reports, opt-in analytics — are named in the Privacy Policy. The security and capabilities page documents the boundary in detail.
Credentials stay on your Mac
App Store Connect keys, AI provider keys, OAuth tokens, and MCP tokens are stored in macOS Keychain.
No ShipZen middleman
The app talks directly to Apple, your selected AI provider, and the services named in our Privacy Policy — purchase validation (RevenueCat), crash reports (Sentry), opt-in analytics (PostHog), and an exchange-rate endpoint. No ShipZen server sits in between.

It replaces the slow daily workflows Apple exposes through the official API: metadata, validation, screenshots, TestFlight basics, reviews, analytics, pricing, export compliance, and age rating. Web-only Apple surfaces still open in App Store Connect.

Do I need my own AI key?
No. Sign in with ChatGPT and ShipZen's AI runs on the Plus or Pro plan you already pay for — no API key, no separate AI bill. Or bring your own OpenAI or Anthropic key and pay that provider at its current rates. Either way, credentials stay in the macOS Keychain and ShipZen never proxies or marks up your usage. The free tier includes 15 AI requests a month; ShipZen Pro removes that cap.
Does AI save changes automatically?
No. AI can draft, stage, analyze, and propose changes. Every AI and MCP write requires your confirmation in the app — metadata changes with a full diff — before it touches Apple.
Can it automate Privacy Nutrition Labels?
No. Apple exposes no official REST API for privacy declarations, so ShipZen does not promise privacy-label automation — those still happen in App Store Connect.
